His fortune mainly comes from his business empire, Dangote Cement, which is considered the largest cement manufacturing company in Africa. The enterprise produces over 48 metric tons of cement per year at production facilities in 10 countries.

South African billionaire Johann Peter Rupert is the richest person in his home country and also is ranked second in Africa regarding capital value. His current net worth is measured at almost $9 billion. His profits are mainly generated by the luxury goods company Richemont. The holding company produces and sells jewellery, watches, leather goods, pens, firearms, clothing, and accessories. The entrepreneur also owns world-famous brands such as Cartier, Chloe, Montblanc, Van Cleef & Arpels S.A. and others.

The South-African businessman was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Nickolas Oppenheimer inherited De Beers, a diamond mining empire which he later sold to a British company. In 2014, the entrepreneur founded his own business in Johannesburg, Fireblade Aviation, which operates chartered flights. His company is at the forefront of the African market of passenger services. Nickolas Oppenheimer still acts a CEO and Chairman. According to recent estimates, the personal wealth of the 77-year-old tycoon equals $8.4 billion.
4th rank – Abdul Samad Rabiu
The net worth of this Nigerian entrepreneur has been growing like mad. In 2020, his fortune measured just $2.9 billion. However, Abdul Samad Rabiu had $7.6 billion in his account tow years later. His wealth is primarily built from BUA Group, his own industrial conglomerate. The 62-year-old magnate runs a group of companies that focus on manufacturing cement, building roads, sugar processing, and trading real estate.

The wealth of 62-year-old Egyptian investor Nassef Sawiris is estimated at $7.3 billion. The most valuable assets in his portfolio are the shares of sportswear manufacturer Adidas (almost 6%) and shares of the cement giant LafargeHolcim (5%). Besides, Nassef Sawiris owns OCI, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of nitrogen fertilizers, and construction firm Orascom Construction.
