Almost a month in Venezuela, the protests with the participation of opponents of the incumbent President Nicolas Maduro have not abated. People take to the streets of cities in the hope of drawing attention to pressing problems.

Protests mainly take place in major cities. The protesters demand early elections, as well as the resignation of members of the Supreme Court of Venezuela, who are trying to reduce the powers of the opposition National Assembly.

There are victims among the strikers. Currently, more than 30 people died.

As a result of the continuing turmoil, the government introduced a six-month ban on carrying weapons. Nicholas Maduro, trying to negotiate with the opposition, organized the convocation of the Constituent Assembly to amend the Constitution of Venezuela.

The initiative of the president did not find a response from the opposition. Julio Borges, the head of the country's parliament, said it is a violation of the current constitution and called on his fellow citizens to resist.

Later, representatives of the Venezuelan opposition tried to organize a march on one of the main streets of Caracas. The police had to use tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.

The protesters did not disperse and began building barricades. As a result, there were victims. On Wednesday, May 3, more than 160 people were wounded and were hospitalized. Many were injured of varying degrees of severity.
